Reasons

Their stands are aluminum and very easy to carry and hassle with but if you don't know how to make them stable on the tree they do slip, the tips of the base don't have a sharp point to dig into the tree bark and hold them steady like the designs by Screaming Eagle. Be careful stepping onto them because it's ugly when you fall down.

I have owned and or used at least 20 different tree climbers, including Summit (excellent quality but to small for me), Tree Lounge (VERY Comfortable but to hard to set up, to heavy to carry with my back, and to hard to climb with for me), Bakers, Warren and Sweat, API etc. I have yet to find one I like better.

1. Safety. The Buckfinder stand that I own is very solid. It's strength and rigidity make me feel SAFE.

2.Comfort. Because of the stands strength & support, I feel comfortable sitting or standing in it. The swivel seat allows for smooth and silent turning. The Stand is lightweight enough to carry virtually anywhere.

3.Features. Because of this stand's design, I can hang it in any tree I want. I find the trail I want to hunt on and put my stand in the tree of my choice. I dont have to find a trail by a "nice tree". This is a big issue to me. I can even put my stand in a crooked, or bent over tree, no problem. This stand is very quick and easy to attach to a tree.It is the best stand I have ever used. I like it enough to buy some stock in the company.

The cable makes it super quiet, plus for convenience especially in the dark you only have one side to attach on each section. The net seat is very comfortable and can be moved or adjusted where ever you need to. It climbs a tree like a squirrel. It folds up for backpacking real flat and I can shake mine to death and it won't make a sound so its very quiet to backpack in. With the cable gripping so much of the tree and the straps gripping the rest, you would have to jump up and down on thing to get it to move. You can get an Ol'Man weighing from 17-23 lbs. They have them with a bar around you, or the bar as a footrest/backrest.

Only 10 ft high. I bought an extension to gain more height and a section bent into a u-shape and then the stand collapsed. Fortunately, I was only up one or two steps when the section bent inwards. I had braced it per the instructions. I sent a letter to the manufacturer and got no response. In my view this is an unsafe stand and shouldn't be on the market.

Reasons

Bear River climbing stick is 12 foot high and each 3 foot section gets strapped to tree making the installed stick very, very stable and safe. It can hold 300 lbs. My River's Edge Bandit treestand, which has one vertical seat post, slips right over the top of the Bear River Stick like they were made for one another. Result? The Bandit is strapped to the tree, and since it's supported by the Bear River Stick, it doesn't slip down the tree. The whole unit is very stable, safe, and can be quietly and quickly setup. Extra sections are available to go higher and each section gets strapped to the tree to provide a stable stand.

Thist stand has done well for me as a good means to relocate easily. It assembles fairly quickly once you have gotten familiar with it and can move things around fairly quitely. It does have a tendency to be a bit noisy and when extremely cold have a tendency to kreak. All and all it has been a reliable stand and has been supporting me for the taking of a number of deer as well as one nice Buck while on my Back with the Bow. I wasn't to sure if the Stand would be in the way as I drew my Bow back all I could do was hope that it didn't, sure enough the Summit Stand rides comfortably enough and far enough back that it didn't hinder my draw, unfortunately for that Buck!

Reasons

The Loc-On brand Tree Stand has been an excellent stand thus far for me. It is typicaly a verry quite stand to sit in unlike some that I have been in that squeak and moan when cold or when you shift your weight, it's hard enough when you need to move on an Animal with out having to worry about whether that movement will be exaspirated by a kreak. They are a bit noisy to set up as there Loc-On Chain has a tendency to swing around and cling and clank against the stand while climbing up to set up. It is relitively easy to set up in the Tree once you're up there once you are use to it. It does take a little bit, to figure out how to manuever the stand to ceep it up against the tree with out it swinging around on you. All around though I have had good luck with the Loc-Ons I have bought so far and use them regurally throughout the Hunting Seasons. During the Duck Hunting Season, Hunting Flooded Timber it doubles as a Retriever Platform for my Lab, it's just big enough to give her a place to sit rather than standing beside me in the water. It gets a bit cold.

IT ALSO WEIGHS ONLY 21 LBS WHICH ALLOWS YOU TO CARRY IT GREAT DISTANCES WITH LITTLE EFFORT. THE CABLE SYSTEM IS GREAT BECAUSE IT NOT ONLY MAKES THE STAND MUCH MORE STABLE THAN THE STANDARD BLADE TYPES BUT, IT ALSO ALLOWS A MUCH GREATER CHOICE OF TREE DIAMETERS TO USE. THIS STAND IS PRICED MORE THAN MOST (ABOUT 229.OO) BUT I BELIEVE IT IS WORTH IT. I ALSO USE IT FOR BOW HUNTING AND IT IS EXCELLENT, BUT I BELIEVE THAT THEIR "SHOOTING STAR" MODEL FOR BOW HUNTERS WOULD BE EVEN BETTER.

My stand creaks when I shift my weight and always has.I have replaced all the bushings and still have the same noise. The last company rep I talked to about my problem was a horses behind and turned me against any future purchases from the company( now out of business). This year I retired the Loggy and bought an API bowhunter.Havn't used it yet so I can't rate it.

Reasons

I use the Tree Lounge whether I'm bowhunting or riflehunting. Some may feel it's a bit heavy, but it totes compactly, is really easier to tote than some lighter stands. It's quiet while carrying it, and quiet in the tree. Most any stand can be a bit noisy setting up, but this stand can be set up quietly, too. And, it can be set up quickly. Climbs and descends more safely than many stands. The comfort I find it hard to believe can be beat. I hunt all day sometimes, cannot imagine having to endure any other stand for an all-day hunt. And, yes, if you get sleepy you can sleep, and unless you suffer super spasms, you won't/can't fall out once you're settled, even without a safety belt (always wear the belt, of course). It's easy to get into and out of. It can be used in more of a sitting position, or has a block of wood that you can use to 'make the tree bigger' to almost lie in it up there. I bought a Bigshot after I bought my Lounge, like it fine, but use my Lounge 98% of the time. I've even taken my son up with me on several occasions when he was 7, 8, & 9, and safely, though the manufacturer would not recommend that. You may have figured out by now, I highly recommend the Tree lounge.

Buckfinder Ambusher (hang on stand)

Reasons

My Buckfinder Ambusher hanging treestand is the best stand that I have ever been in. It is so solid on the tree, it just plain doesnt move. It also sets up in crooked trees. And I have never been in a more comfortable seat. Big platform. Ive used many different stands over the years api loc on.....etc. none compare to this buckfinder.

Reasons

The stand seems to flex when in the tree. When in seat assembly is in place if you stand up you only have about 6 inches to move your feet. If you bump the arms of the seat it will move some times it would drop an inch or two. When moving around on platform to shoot behind or to the side the stand would lean and spring feels very unsafe. Had it for 10 days and could never get the feeling of being safe in it.

Reasons

This is a basic two tier climber with a platform and reversable (to or away from tree) padded wooden seat. It weighs probably 15+ lbs. Some things I don't like: 1.The large handle nuts and bolts which adjust and secure the bite bar are easy to drop in the dark. 2. Carrying is uncomfortable, but manageable for short distances. 3. The seat is attached with two small wing nuts which can be easily dropped and lost. I found that replacing the wing nuts with clip-on (spring) nuts greatly reduces the chances of dropping one. Some things I like: 1. Setting up and climbing, with practice, can be done relatively quickly and quietly. 2. It feels secure once up, despite not having some kind of swing away locking device (i.e. rubber straps, which can be added). 3. Has good foot straps which make it feel secure and aid in a speedy climb. This is my first stand, ever, so comparing it to other stands is difficult, but I did quite a bit of homework before I made the purchase. I think that it will be hard to beat without spending significantly more money. I chose a climber over a fixed stand because I hunt mostly public lands on a day-to-day basis.

I'm a little afraid of heights and was worried about hunting 20 ft up but once I climbed up and sat in this one i had no problems. My favorite so far.

THIS STAND WEIGHS 11 POUNDS AND IS VERY EASY TO BACKPACK IN AND OUT OF THE WOODS. IT IS VERY EASY TO SET UP AND VERY EASY TO CLIMB WITH. IT IS ALSO SPIKELESS, SO IT CAN BE HUNTED IN AREAS WHERE SPIKES ARE PROHIBITED. I LIKE THIS STAND MOST OF ALL BECAUSE THE REINFORCEMENT STRAPS ARE ON THE BOTTOM HALF OF THE STAND WHERE THE SEAT IS LOCATED. I'VE HUNTED OTHER CLIMBING STANDS WHERE THE TOP HALF IS REINFORCED BECAUSE THE SEAT IS LOCATED ON THIS PART, BUT THE BOTTOM TENDED TO SHIFT WHEN YOU STOOD UP. ALSO THE LOGGY LITE IS VERY DURABLE. I HAVEN'T REPLACED ANY PARTS IN 9 YEARS.

The tree Lounge is an excellent stand; however, I would highly recommend anyone who climbs with a lounge to use a different foot climber. It makes the job of moving up and down much less stressful on your legs while having the safety of the lounge itself. Although the price seems a bit high considering the simplicity in design, the tree lounge is worth the money. I don't feel safe using the wood block. Now they have an attachment that replaces the wood block to change the angle of lean. It is ,however, another 60 bucks to spend. Sometimes you must raise the stand above the base of the tree to fasten it close enough to have a comfortable lean while climbing high -this process is slightly agitating.

I am currently looking at purchasing my third "Loggy". My old ones are locked in place as lock on's and I just want the added comforts of the newer model. thanks for coming backinto business.

You almost have to roll it to your tree because of the weight. This setup costs $500+. For that price, it should come with a theft proof cable to tie it down and already painted in camo. Overall, I have to say it is the best built and safest stand I've seen or used.

Seat creeks, platform supports can bend due to the fact that you need to jump on it(with safety belt on ) to get it fixed to tree once you put the chain around the tree and hook it up. I feel the stand is too heavy and cumbersome while going through the woods. The fold down is set up so the stand gets longer when on your back and the platform hits your legs or the seat makes you hold your head forward while walking with it on your back, this leads to a sore neck and back problems once you get to your tree. If you get one take the time to have or get the metal chain plastic- coated to silence it....KJL
