Food and Lodging at Primland

Primland offers a variety of food and lodging for every taste and budget. The Black Bear Cabin, which I rented in the off season (September), rented for $90 night. The view from the front porch was incredible, as you can see below!

On the other hand, the Bobcat rents for over $200 a night. It is exceptionally beautiful, though, and worth every penny! There is a large flat yard...my kids loved it. Around both cabins, we were able to see a variety of wildlife, including deer and wild turkey. The lodging at Primland is quite a drive from the reception area, in fact the drive can be a half-hour or more to get to your cabin. That's what happens when you're enjoying a 14,000 acre reserve! We recommend bringing a pickup or SUV, although "regular" vehicles can certainly handle the mountain road. Your vehicles will get dusty going "over the mountain" (to the cabins), as you might expect.

The restaurant served a terrific wild game dinner (quail and venison) that we enjoyed immensely. We also tried the fried chicken, ribeye steak and filet mignon. Yum! Doug, the chef, was not only a great cook, but a great personality as well. Denise, who also cooked for us, and was our server, was as gracious a hostess as we have ever met.
